Our Meditation Practice Schedule
Tuesday Nights, 7 – 8:30 – Our Main Meditation Night
Meeting every Tuesday. We start at 7 p.m. with a 25 minute meditation session, followed by a five minute walking practice, then another 25 minute sit. After meditation we have a dharma talk and q&a, usually led by our guiding teacher, Lisa Ernst. This is an opportunity to learn more about the teachings and practical application of practice in everyday life. We often close the session with a guided lovingkindness practice. People of all experience levels are welcome, from beginners to experienced meditators. For your first time meditating with us, be sure to arrive at 6:45 for orientation. Please note that we start promptly at 7 p.m. Late arrivals (beyond 7:05) are asked to sit on the couch in the hallway until the walking period at 7:25, then join us for the rest of the session. Meetings are held at 3808 Park Avenue. For questions, email us.

This first hour of this meeting offers an introduction to creating and incorporating an effective and ongoing mindfulness meditation practice. You will learn the basics of insight meditation and its applications in daily life. The question and discussion period will help you learn more about Buddhism and how to bring mindfulness practice into everyday activities. At 11:30 we open it up for a thirty minute meditation and practice discussion for anyone who would like to join in for a Saturday sit with sangha. You can come for the entire session or just show up at 11:30 for meditation. This is an opportunity to connect and practice in community on the weekend.
This class is appropriate for beginners as well as more experienced mediators who wish to restart or refresh their practice. We meet in the East Room at Osher (Vanderbilt) Center for Integrative Health, 3401 West End Ave.
